Coverage Information for the Care You Need
Your eye care visit should be as convenient as possible, so at Ideal Optical, we offer direct billing to those with OHIP and third party insurance.
OHIP covers annual eye exams for individuals 19 and younger and 65 and older. Those between 20 and 64 are not covered by OHIP unless they have a specific medical condition that affects the eyes and requires yearly monitoring, like diabetes, glaucoma, or retinal disease.
If you have questions about your insurance coverage, we encourage you to directly reach out to your provider for information on your specific policy. However, if you know your insurance covers eye exams and eyewear (like glasses or contacts), or if you have a health spending account that can be used for eye care, but you do not know how to proceed, let us know; we can help.
For uninsured patients, we accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and debit
At Ideal Optical, we aim to provide the most up to date information to insurance providers; however, we assume no responsibility or liability for the accuracy of such information transmitted to insurance providers and such service may be refused at any time. In all cases where we process insurance claims on behalf of a patient, the patient continues to remain responsible for all amounts charged, until such time when all amounts owing for the given services are paid in full.
